Home Improvement for The Early 30s Ladies!

Your Own Homes Improvement Outline

(One for the Ladies)

Let me start by saying what a home improvement plan won’t do! I’ve seen this happen more than once, so I will say this today. A home improvement project, addition, remodel, or makeover will not make up for a troubled marriage. So for the ones that think home improvement can save a marriage, I am telling you now that it will add more stress and it is a poor replacement for proper counseling.

With that said, when you find a house being sold because of a divorce, have a good look in the home since you may see evidence of a fantastic remodel job. However, the union still collapsed. The situation above leads into other areas of a house remodel, acquisition, and selling things. Gentlemen, listen here! It is usually recognized that women are responsible for 80 percent of all decisions on whether to purchase a specific home.

So what affects the ladies in their decisions regarding home remodeling and purchases? Definitely, the two biggest things are the kitchen and the bath. If I had to select one or another, I think I would consider which area needed the remodel more, while at precisely the same time looking at the costs of the two options.

As for the guys, what exactly do they want? They’d be happy with a massive garage/workshop plus a secluded den or office to carry on with business or to escape to the solitude of a”cave” Guys, as we could see, actually do not invest too long feathering the nest so as a consequence, we see that contrary to popular belief, men really tend to follow the female’s lead. Generally speaking, you are going to find that men don’t pay much attention to draperies, window treatments, flower boxes, state of the art appliances, Jacuzzi baths, well-lit bathrooms, large cabinets, or floral designs of any type. They often prefer brown and grey everything, with a large garage, a shed, a sprinkler system, and a privacy fenced back yard for barbeques and lounging privately. Men also enjoy low-maintenance homes so they are not always being asked to fix or repair things. If left up to the guys to decide, you would discover that faucets, toilets, sinks, baths, floors, mirrors, cabinetry, appliances, and furnishings would often be preferred by their industrial power qualities as opposed to beauty.

Those are general observations and many times they won’t apply. However, by keeping them in mind and using the 80/20 rule, they may assist in the decision-making process. So now using what we know, it would be sensible to slant your remodel to the light and bright feminine side of life. It seems to make sense that when the girls are the decision-makers then we should let them decide on what actually needs attention first!

Let’s look at the kitchen first. Can you paint or paint the cabinetry and adjust the knobs and handles to get the new look? Would new Formica laminate over the old countertops with a matching backsplash do just fine? Perhaps a white ceramic sink with a new faucet will achieve the desired result. Quite possibly you may choose to tear it all out. If that is true, then paint the walls and consider tiling the floor too. Frequently, adding some small electrical and lighting upgrades will help to transform and modernize the whole effort. Do not overlook the new built-in dishwasher and plumbing as well.

Custom cabinets, if designed, built, and installed by a regional reputable cabinetmaker with references and a photo book of prior work done, are often very attractive in quality and price. I utilize craftsmen with reduced overhead working on one job at one time. Often I will ask them to create, along with the kitchen, a base cabinet for the bathroom to fit, all for a low price. When working with kitchens I always look to find out if a wall can be opened up to create a pass-through or bar stool countertop. This allows in more light and allows the individual from the kitchen to speak with and see the folks in the adjoining room. It also creates the effect of a spacious kitchen.

The bottom line is that a well-lit, mild, bright, and spacious kitchen, well equipped with modern appliances, plenty of storage space, and ornamental tiles, paint, and window treatments, will add value and appeal to any home’s remodel plan.
